Clarinet bootcamp will take place during the month of June and is a 4-week intensive designed to help students better prepare for high school band.
Who Its For
Clarinet Bootcamp is a 4 week intensive designed to help rising freshmen better prepare for high school band. Each week students will receive a video lesson to complete on their own and a live masterclass covering topics such as:
🎵 Developing a good tone and mastering the high notes
🎵 Scales made simple and music theory 101
🎵 Everything you need to know about reeds
🎵 Care and maintenance of the clarinet featuring special guest Jonathan Copeland
🎵 Fast fingers and music memorization made simple
About Dr. Lawson
Dr. Tonya Lawson has been teaching woodwinds in Tennessee and Texas for the past 22 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Lawson currently teaches at Middle Tennessee State University, Father Ryan High School, and throughout Rutherford and Wilson Counties. Her students regularly earn college scholarships and participate in Mid-state, All-state, Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Interlochen, as well as various other honor bands. When not teaching, Dr. Lawson enjoys, gardening, running, and playing with her dog Buster.

What are the dates for the bootcamp?
Clarinet Bootcamp will take place during the month of June. Live masterclasses will take place each Tuesday in June at 11:00 am CST
What if I have to miss one of the live masterclasses?
We understand that summer is a busy time and you may need to miss a class or two. That's why all of the live masterclasses will be recorded and uploaded into the course platform by the next day.
How long will I have access to the videos?
You will have access to all of the bootcamp videos through the end of June 2022.
