Clarinet bootcamp is a 4 week virtual program that will have you ready for high school band by the end of the summer!





Clarinet bootcamp will take place during the month of June and is a 4-week intensive coaching program designed to help students better prepare for high school band.

Current High School Students who want to make sure they come in at the top of their class.




Clarinet Bootcamp is a 4 week group coaching intensive designed to help rising freshmen and current high school students better prepare for high school band and make sure they stay at the top of their class.  Each week students will receive a video lesson to complete on their own and a live masterclass covering topics such as:

đŸŽ” Scales made simple and music theory 101

đŸŽ” Everything you need to know about reeds 

đŸŽ” Care and maintenance of the clarinet featuring special guest Jonathan Copeland

đŸŽ”Â Fast fingers and music memorization made simple

Clarinet bootcamp's live masterclasses provided small group teaching  that allows students to receive both the support of Dr. Lawson and their peers.

Clarinet bootcamp is not just for rising freshmen.  Students who are already in high school band and want to rise up in chair placements are welcome too!

About Dr. Lawson

Dr. Tonya Lawson has been teaching woodwinds in Tennessee and Texas for the past 23 years.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Texas Tech University.  Dr. Lawson currently teaches at Middle Tennessee State University, Father Ryan High School, Siegel High School, Oakland High School, and throughout Murfreesboro and Nashville.  Her students regularly earn college scholarships and participate in Mid-state, All-state, Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Interlochen, as well as various other honor bands.  When not teaching, Dr. Lawson enjoys, gardening, running, and playing with her dog Buster.

What are the dates for the bootcamp?

Clarinet Bootcamp will take place during the month of June.  Live masterclasses will take place each Tuesday in June at 11:00 am CST but don't worry if you have to miss one or two because everything is recorded. 



What if I have to miss one of the live masterclasses?


We understand that summer is a busy time and you may need to miss a class or two.  That's why all of the live masterclasses will be recorded and uploaded into the course platform by the next day.



How long will I have access to the videos?

You will have access to all of the bootcamp videos through the end of August 2023.
